On April 5, we launched the IUPUI Faculty-Staff IMPACT Campaign with a special focus on fellowship and scholarship funding for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Faculty-Staff campaign is a year-long event, but we set a short-term goal to pick up the pace.

Professor Howard Giles’s research on intergroup communication is world-renowned, and he translates that research into practice. Since the announcement nearly three years ago that there would be a school of public health at IUPUI, Associate Vice Chancellor for Public Health G. Marie Swanson has led steps to build up the existing Department of Public Health in the IU School of Medicine in preparation for seeking accreditation for a school from the Council on Education for Public Health.

As I write this, the tents are coming down at the University Place Conference Center, the host for the New England Patriots during their Super Bowl stay. What a great event for Indianapolis and IUPUI!
