IUPUI library captures three major Library Federation awards

Jennifer Johnson (left) and Willie MillerAugust 31, 2012 — University Library at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and two of the library’s employees are recipients of leadership awards from the Indiana Library Federation, one of the largest state library associations in the U.S. The IUPUI library is the only public academic library to earn the association’s leadership awards in three categories.

IUPUI University Library offers a grand stage for student Inspiration

University LibraryMay 4, 2012 — Each year, the University Library at IUPUI sponsors an annual art competition for students from the Herron School of Art and Design, through which one student wins funding to create a large-scale sculpture for the library’s atrium. This year a collaborative piece was selected: Ally Alsup and Amanda DeVary’s piece, "The Creation of Thought," is an exploration of how ideas are formed.

Philanthropy Collections at IUPUI Shine Light on the Life Cycle of Social Enterprise

April 10, 2012 — On Wednesday (April 11, 2012) the IUPUI University Library Philanthropy Collections will host “Dollars to Deeds: the Lifecycle of Social Enterprise,” a 90-minute forum looking at social change. The event features speakers from three outstanding organizations at different points in the social enterprise life cycle—start up, sustainability and long-term impact.

Attacking Emerging Health Risks Through Innovative Health Information Technology

Shaun Grannis, M.D.October 6, 2009 — Researchers from Indiana University and the Regenstrief Institute, with its world-renowned medical informatics research group and regional health information exchange, have been awarded a $4.8 million grant by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to create the Indiana Center of Excellence in Public Health Informatics, one of only four such centers in the nation.

University Library Receives Grant to Make More Hoosier History Accessible

June 24, 2009 — IUPUI University Library, in collaboration with Conner Prairie, received a Library Service Technology Act (LSTA) digitization grant for over $11,000 to create the museum’s newest online digital collection entitled: “Conner Prairie’s Traditional Crafts: Preservation and Reproduction.”
