Nap Town Chickens 'Tour of Homes' set for Sunday, prelude to IUPUI class

Backyard Coop, Photo Courtesy of Nap Town ChickensSeptember 12, 2012 — The second annual ‘Tour de Coops” -- a self-guided tour of local, urban chicken coops -- takes place from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, throughout the Broad Ripple, Meridian-Kessler, Rocky Ripple and Butler-Tarkington areas of Indianapolis. The open-house event, open to the public, features a dozen "show coops” and a couple of local schoolyard coops on display.

BantzNovember 15, 2010 — IUPUI’s Community Learning Network just received a $2.5 million U.S. Department of Education grant that will create three full-service community schools in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood of Indianapolis. Full-service schools offer education, nutrition, health services, counseling, tutoring, mentoring, recreation, and social skills development. Such wrap-around services necessarily require the collaboration of university and community partners, including Indianapolis Public Schools. The strategy builds on IUPUI’s commitment to collaboration and to serving as an anchor institution.

Continuing Studies to Hold Retirement Reception for Henry Merrill

Henry MerrillJune 21, 2010 — The Indiana University School of Continuing Studies at IUPUI will hold a reception to honor Henry Merrill, Ph.D., who is retiring from his faculty position in the school’s Master of Science in Adult Education program. Merrill began teaching in the adult education program in 1996.
