The Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IUPUI has announced that Kathy Koehler has been named interim director of the school’s Executive Education Program.

“Kathy is a SPEA alum and a great supporter of our programs,” said SPEA Executive Associate Dean Lilliard Richardson. “But just as important, she brings a wealth of experience with nonprofit organizations and state agencies to a job that requires excellent networking skills and a clear understanding of the requirements of public service jobs.”

Koehler earned her Master of Public Affairs from SPEA and has remained an active member of its alumni board. She has also been an adjunct faculty member, most recently teaching a class in public organizations. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.

Koehler founded Koehler Partners in 2012, offering training, project management, program evaluation, team building and program improvement services to government, nonprofit and private organizations. Before that, she worked at Crowe Horwath as a consultant who focused on improving the performance of government initiatives and who managed Faith Works Indiana, a faith-based community effort. She also worked as the program evaluation manager for the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration Division of Family and Children, and for the Indiana State Budget Agency, the Indiana Election Commission and the Indiana Department of Education.

SPEA’s Executive Education Program was created in 1979 to prepare leaders and managers in government, nonprofit agencies and the private sector to address the unique challenges of their positions.
