Inaugural Hiring Report Card of NCAA men's basketball head coaches calls attention to need for diversity

November 15, 2012 — INDIANAPOLIS -- In an effort to address equity in the hiring process among intercollegiate sports, directly pertaining to employment of ethnic minorities, Black Coaches & Administrators has released the inaugural Hiring Report Card from the 2011‐12 hiring cycle of head coaches in men’s basketball of the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision Institutions.

IUPUI instructor to be inducted into elite group of public relations professionals

July 17, 2012 — Julie Vincent, a public relations instructor in the IU School of Journalism at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, will be inducted into the Public Relations Society of America’s College of Fellows. The school now has three full-time or adjunct faculty who have this distinction.

IUPUI Student from Salem Helps Homeland Security Reach Storm Victims

IU Cancer Researchers Named to Komen Scientific Advisory Council

June 14, 2010 — Four Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center researchers are among 62 top-ranking scientists and clinicians from seven countries selected to serve as inaugural members of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s new Scientific Advisory Council.

This year’s race was especially exciting for students in our new motorsports engineering program because they were directly involved or knew others who were. Only in its second year, IUPUI’s Bachelor of Science degree in motorsports engineering already has an enrollment of some 60 students from 16 states.

IU National Sports Journalism Center Receives Grant from McCormick Foundation

Tim FranklinMay 3, 2010 — The McCormick Foundation of Chicago has awarded a $35,000 grant to Indiana University's National Sports Journalism Center, based at IUPUI, to launch a free Sports Media Diversity Institute this summer to select high school students from Indianapolis and Chicago.
