IUPUI Receives $2 Million to Expand State, National Science and Technology Talent Pool

Jeffery X. Watt, Ph.D.September 27, 2010 — A $2 million grant from the National Science Foundation to Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis is targeted to boost the number of students graduating with bachelor’s degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics by 10 percent.

September 27, 2010 — NBC News will launch its first annual “Education Nation” this week - a national conversation about improving education in America, broadcast live from New York City. Hosted by Education Secretary Arne Duncan, a kickoff event at 2:00 pm E.S.T. Monday will introduce a new national initiative, the TEACH campaign, to encourage students to consider teaching as a profession.
