Attacking Emerging Health Risks Through Innovative Health Information Technology

Shaun Grannis, M.D.October 6, 2009 — Researchers from Indiana University and the Regenstrief Institute, with its world-renowned medical informatics research group and regional health information exchange, have been awarded a $4.8 million grant by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to create the Indiana Center of Excellence in Public Health Informatics, one of only four such centers in the nation.

Joseph Maley Scholarship created to support IUPUI Media Arts and Science Program

September 11, 2009 — The IU School of Informatics has announced the creation of a scholarship honoring the late Joseph Maley. The annual scholarship will be given to a deserving student in the Media Arts and Science Program at IUPUI, based on the student’s merit and academic achievement. The first award will be given in spring 2010 and will continue until 2012.

MediaSauce Scholarship to Support IUPUI Media Arts and Sciences Program

September 1, 2009 — The Indiana University School of Informatics, located at Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis, has announced the creation of a scholarship supported by MediaSauce to be given to students who are studying in the Media Arts and Sciences Program at IUPUI. The inaugural scholarship will be granted in spring 2010 to a deserving student, based on their merit and achievement within the program.

Informatics researcher's digital image selected for cover of leading science journal

January 29, 2009 — INDIANAPOLIS – A computer-generated image of neurons inside a microscopic worm – digitally drawn by Albert William, research associate, Indiana University School of Informatics at IUPUI – is on the cover of the most recent issue of Molecular Interventions.  The journal, published by The American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET), is among the most respected in the field of medical research.
