Herron Buildings Scheduled for Renovations, Renaming of Sculpture and Ceramics Building

July 18, 2011 — Construction projects beginning this summer at Herron School of Art and Design facilities will provide additional classroom, studio, gallery and office space for the school’s growing faculty, staff and student enrollment.

Ruth Lilly Bequest to Expand Opportunities for Students and Research in Philanthropy and Art

Ruth LillyApril 6, 2011 — Indiana University is receiving two generous gifts from the estate of philanthropist Ruth Lilly – an estimated $10.7 million -- that includes approximately $8 million for the Center on Philanthropy and approximately $2.7 million for the Herron School of Art and Design.

Chancellor Charles R. BantzFebruary 28, 2011 — This morning we officially launched the IUPUI IMPACT Faculty/Staff Campaign. IUPUI employees have a well-deserved reputation for giving generously to the campus, so we look forward to the annual campaign’s giving us a big boost toward reaching our $1.25 billion goal. At last count, we have more than $919 million raised. We are at 74 percent of goal, but time is short—fewer than 28 months to go.

Lawmakers Honor Museum Studies Students For Documentation of State House Art

State House Resolution CeremonyFebruary 14, 2011 — In fall 2010, students in the Museum Studies Collections Care and Management Course, offered through the School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI, continued the Wikipedia Saves Public Art project by documenting historic artworks inside and around the Indiana State House.

Illustrator and Writer Lynda Barry to Speak at Herron Feb. 24

The event, a part of the Rufus & Louise Reiberg Reading Series, will take place at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 24, 2011, in the Basile Auditorium of Eskenazi Hall.

Artist Wayne White to Lecture, Exhibit Work at Herron

White's What'd I Tell Ya"January 14, 2011 — Sometimes reality only seems to bite. For Wayne White, the realization that a degree in painting was not going to pay the bills when he moved to New York City in the early 80s led him in new directions. He gravitated to cartooning and illustrating, and as they say, “the rest is history”.
