INDIANAPOLIS -- Judy Chicago will appear next week at Herron School of Art and Design as the 2012 Jane Fortune Outstanding Woman Visiting Artist Lecturer. In a talk titled “Surveying Judy Chicago: An Artist’s Career,” Chicago will trace her trailblazing, artistic life over more than five decades of fecundity.

New assistant dean in IU School of Dentistry will direct school's International Dental Program

November 29, 2012 — Melanie R. Peterson, a former longtime University of Louisville professor and administrator who joined the Indiana University School of Dentistry faculty in 2011 as director of hospital dentistry and the general practice residency, has been appointed the dental school’s assistant dean for admissions and students affairs, pending approval of the Trustees of Indiana University. She has also been named director of an advanced-standing degree program for international dentists.

Study maps Central Indiana students' transitions to college

November 27, 2012 — The greatest disparities in college access, attendance and success are high school diploma types and socioeconomic status, according to "Mapping Transitions to College," a study of 25,880 Central Indiana high school students just released by the Talent Alliance-a group of nearly 70 public and private organizations united with a common mission to elevate Central Indiana’s system of education to world-class status and ensure every individual has the opportunity to succeed from cradle to career.
