With only 19 days until the 2012 Super Bowl it is time to remember IUPUI’s plans for this super event.
These plans include:
• Campus remains open at all times.
• Cancellation of classes the weekend of the Super Bowl, February 4 and 5th.
• Faculty have been given the flexibility to adjust teaching activities for Friday February 3rd and Monday February 6th.
The IUPUI Office of the Registrar is the authoritative source for information about class schedules. Students and faculty are encouraged to check the Registrar's page - http://registrar.iupui.edu/superbowl_office_hours.html - on closings, Academic Unit Class & Office Plans, for information and updates about scheduled classes during the weekend of the Super Bowl.
In support of the City of Indianapolis as host of the 2012 Super Bowl, IUPUI will provide parking and transportation services on certain days for Super Bowl activities, campus officials have announced.
IUPUI Parking Services will make approximately 4,000 campus parking spaces available for Super Bowl Park and Ride locations on the east side of the campus. The spaces will be available for paid parking for Super Bowl activities on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012; Sunday, Jan. 29; and Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 3, 4 and 5, 2012. The cost, $25 per space, will include shuttle service on Jan. 28 and 29, and Feb. 3 and 4. IUPUI will not provide shuttle services on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012.
The remaining 12,000 parking spots on campus will be available as usual to IUPUI permit holders and campus visitors on these days, and all 16,000 parking spaces will be available to IUPUI permit holders and campus visitors on other days. Regular campus shuttle routes will operate as normal during the Super Bowl weekends.
Super Bowl parking on campus will be available in the following areas east of Blackford Street and along Michigan Street and New York Street:
•Along Michigan and Blackford: parking lots 73 and 92; and the Gateway (XL) and Blackford (XF) parking garages.
•Between Blackford Street and California Street from West Michigan Street south to West New York Street: parking lots 83 and 85, both lots are directly west of the Informatics and Communications Technology Complex and Inlow Hall.
