In less than a month, Super Bowl XLVI will be here. More than 150,000 football fans are expected to be in downtown Indianapolis, and the American Football Conference champion team will be housed at the University Place Hotel on campus.
Months of planning have gone into making room for this welcome onslaught of visitors to our campus and city, but it will also mean some inevitable disruptions. We’d like to make sure you are aware of the IUPUI Super Bowl website, which is your one-stop resource for up-to-date campus-specific information on traffic, parking, class cancellations, building closures, and more.
In the “News” section of the website are specially targeted messages from Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Dawn Rhodes pertaining to staff; from Executive Vice Chancellor Uday Sukhatme pertaining to faculty, and from Vice Chancellor for Student Life Zebulun Davenport pertaining to students. These messages will help everyone be specifically informed about how Super Bowl week will affect them.
Many other Super Bowl issues are addressed via the website under “Frequently Asked Questions.” If you have specific questions about your situation, you should start by contacting your supervisor or you may send questions to super46@iupui.edu.
Please remember that inclement weather can be a factor this time of year, creating conditions and situations that require changes in even the best laid advance plans. Such changes will be communicated via the usual Emergency Notification System, so you should make sure your contact information is current by following the instructions posted there regarding JagAlert/IU-Notify.
