Hands-on servant-leadership will be on display at the 3rd Annual United Way Campaign Kickoff Fundraising Luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, as campus leaders, including me, volunteer to be "celebrity servers." The Kickoff Luncheon will take place in the University Place Hotel Scholars Hall from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Scott Raymond, IndyCar engineer and newest IUPUI Motorsports faculty member, is our celebrity guest speaker.
We will have a friendly competition among the “celebrity servers” for the most tips collected, so join us to support your favorite dean or other campus leader. The “traveling trophy” will be awarded to the celebrity server who collects the most tips. Last year, that honor went to Dean of Dentistry John Williams.
The lunch buffet is $6 (cash only). All tips go toward our campus United Way Campaign goal, and your tip is tax deductible. Please contact Betty Joyner at (317) 274-2700 or bejoyner@iupui.edu to make your reservation.
Our United Way Campaign goal this year is $395,000. You can make your gift online by going to our United Way Campaign web site, where you will also find out about the other fun activities that we have planned to help us reach our goal by Oct. 31.
