IUPUI is Indiana's premier urban research university. The campus enrolls more than 30,000 students in 21 schools and academic units.
Terry Baumer has been appointed the new Executive Associate Dean for SPEA on the IUPUI campus, effective November 1.
"congratulate Terry on assuming this new role," said IUPUI Chancellor Charles R. Bantz. "Terry has been the director of Criminal Justice and Public Safety Programs, which were recently ranked 3rd in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. He joined the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IUPUI in 1984. His academic background is in sociology, including a Ph.D. from Loyola University of Chicago. His appointment will enable us to keep our nationally distinctive SPEA program in the top tier both in attractiveness to talented students and in responsiveness to the community’s need for first-rate public policy analysis."
Bantz thanked Eric Wright for his service on behalf of our SPEA programs at IUPUI, saying "I look forward to his help with establishing our new School of Public Health, which will be equally distinctive."
"As director of the Center for Health Policy and co-director of the Consortium for Health Policy, Law, and Bioethics (an IUPUI Signature Center), Eric’s expertise will be an important asset in building strong foundations for the school," Bantz added.
