IUPUI Police on September 14 responded to a report of a possible bicycle theft and apprehended an Indianapolis man after a foot chase.

At approximately 11:30 PM the IUPUI Police responded to a report of a possible bicycle theft at the Riverwalk Apartments located on the west side of campus. Police located a subject in Military Park located at New York St. and West St. matching the description given to police. When approached the subject fled on foot to the 600 Government Place where he stopped and was apprehended.

The investigation revealed the bike he was riding was just stolen from the apartments and he cooperated with the officers once apprehended.

The subject was identified as Robert Wickware, 1033 E. Washington St, Indianapolis and was charged with resisting law enforcement, battery and two outstanding warrants for theft and trespass.

The officer suffered minor knee abrasions after falling during the foot chase.

Mr. Wickware was not injured and was transported to the adult processing center.
