Andrew Strong, a senior in the Purdue School of Science, and Beatrice Thungu, a junior in the Purdue School of Science, have been named the most outstanding male and female students at IUPUI for 2009.
To be eligible for the 2009 awards, a student nominee had to be registered and in good standing at IUPUI and meet the following criteria: the student was a degree-seeking junior or senior on the Indianapolis campus; the student had completed a minimum of 56 credit hours applicable to her/his degree program; 25 or more of those hours must have been completed at the Indianapolis campus as of the Fall 08 semester; the student had achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Nominations were reviewed and scored based on the following: Academic achievement, community/campus involvement, professional achievement. Top 10 students received an engraved plaque. The two top students were chosen from among the top 10 female and male students and received an award and $500.
