Given some number of occupants, what is the probability that two people in the same room have the same birthday? You might take a guess, using your life experiences. Or, better yet, you might write a computer program to deliver a more exact answer.

The Department of Computer and Information Science in the School of Science at IUPUI is hosting the 3rd Annual IUPUI Computer Programming Contest for area high school students on Saturday March 21, 2009. Contestants will be presented with 10 programming problems and given four hours to write the programs using Java and C++. They will be judged by the speed with which they complete the programs and how the program conforms to the specifications of the problems.

The contest problems were created by and will be judge by IUPUI computer science students. To learn more about the contest, visit http://www.cs.iupui.edu/form/contest/faculty.php
